Still, the game is very enjoyable, and is probably worth buying just to experience the flashy graphics and unique fusion of strategy and hack-and-slash. There's also a certain amount of grinding tha t may or may not be necessary to progress once "late-game" hits (I don't actually know for sure, as I haven't gotten to that point yet), which, compounded with the fact that the game likely starts to become stale after a couple dozen hours of play, might be a turn-off to some people. The story is rather lacking in terms of real depth and development, which didn't surprise me much. Of course, the game is not without its flaws.
The first Fire Emblem Warriors game was released in 2017 and featured characters from games like Fire Emblem: Awakening and Fire Emblem Fates.
This is not the first Warriors game set in the Fire Emblem universe. The gameplay is definitely the most enjoyable part- the aforementioned graphics are exciting the Weapon Triangle, type advantage/disadvantages, and Pair Up system add an excellent strategy element to what would be just a kill-everything fighting game and the ability to switch between and command characters adds more mulitasking and strategy to the mix. Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes will be released on June 24, 2022, for the Nintendo Switch. Having more control of all the actions of your characters, the weapons triangle, and pairing up characters for combo attacks and defense, theres a ton of strategy. However, where this game stands out is taking the fire emblem strategy elements.
Pair up two hero characters as a single unit that can unleash devastating combos and even switch between these heroes mid-attack. I've never really played Fire Emblem, so I didn't really know the characters much outside of Super Smash Bros, but I was instantly hooked on the smooth character designs and flashy fighting sequences. Fire emblem warriors goes the same path, drawing upon well known heroes from the games. Battle as fan-favorite Fire Emblem heroes, like Chrom, Corrin, Ryoma, Marth, Xander and more, each with unique moves, special attacks, weapon types, and voiced dialogue. Awesome game- a few flaws, but overall great (must buy for Fire Emblem fans!)īought this game on a whim, was not disappointed.
